For all itineraries we reserve the right to make adjustments and changes as needed. Below is a sample itinerary from our 2019 Adventure.

Day 1

Welcome to Ljubljana, the bustling capitol of Slovenia. Check into our historical-center hotel located in the pedestrian zone of the old town city center. Join us this evening for a Welcome Reception of local wine and delicacies.

Day 2

Good morning Ljubljana! After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a guided walk of this castle-topped city. You’ll have time on your own to stroll along the river, lined with shops, cafés, and a bustling outdoor market. You will enjoy a private wine tasting with one of Slovenia’s world class wineries. Your group dinner will be at a historical location celebrating local cuisine & wine!

Farewell Ljubljana, today we’ll take a picturesque drive to breath-taking Lake Bled, where we will stay at our stunning, historical, lake-front hotel and enjoy dinner at a picturesque setting. Along the way we will visit a quaint village and some off the beaten path sites.

Awaken to magical Lake Bled, with medieval Castle perched high above on a limestone cliff. Now we know where fairy tales came from! Enjoy exploring on your own while taking in the Lake’s mesmerizing beauty. Each day we’ll have a special excursion, and a gourmet dinner.

Farewell Lake Bled, today we’ll make our way along the emerald Soča River, stopping along the way to take in the natural beauty, we’ll wind our way through the Goriška Brda wine region, and on to Italy’s Collio wine region. This evening’s stay is on the Italian side at the foot of a castle.

Award winning wine awaits you! Today you’ll explore the Goriška brda wine region and taste and dine at an exclusive winery. You’ll tour the cellar and learn from the winemaker how they integrate modern and ancient techniques! The winemaker has invited us to dine in their vineyard with the beautiful Julian Alps as our backdrop.

* If it rains we will enjoy our gourmet feast in one of the private cellars.

Day 7

It’s time for history and romance at Predjama Castle; built into a cave on a rocky cliff. Next, you’ll tour, taste and enjoy a local cuisine style snack at a fifth generation award winning winery. You’ll taste wines specific to this Istrian wine region. After our active day you’ll relax and enjoy dinner seaside in a charming Venetian village.

Ah, Piran, home of violinist Giuseppe Tartini in the late 17th century when this charming village was part of the Venetian Territories. After breakfast, enjoy a guided walk with time to explore on your own. In the afternoon, you’ll board our private coach to visit the amazing Skocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the evening, we’ll dine seaside.

Farewell Piran, now let’s have some amazing sparkling wine! But wait, on our way there we’ll stop at the must see, Stari Grad – Grand Old Castle, in the heart of the Posavje wine region. Situated atop a hill, was first mentioned in 1125. Next, a private tour and tasting at a world class wine producer, you’ll stay this evening in their private villa.

Goodbye Slovenia and Hello Croatia! You’ll depart our private villa and head for Plitvice Lakes, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Plitvice Lakes has breath-taking beauty, and is a spectacular natural wonder. This lush valley holds 16 terraced lakes, laced together by waterfalls and miles of plank walkways. We will enjoy a group dinner at our traditional Croatian lodge.

After breakfast we’ll head seaside to Zadar and experience it’s Sea Organ. Yes, they have designed a promenade with specifically designed holes and pipes in the walkway that emit beautiful sounds as the waves wash up under the promenade. Your day will finish in Split, and you’ll dine amongst Diocletian’s Palace walls, a UNESCO world heritage site.

It’s a beautiful day in Split. Enjoy time this morning exploring the shops and cafés of this bustling seaside palace. In the afternoon, we’ll have a guided tour of Diocletian’s Palace, one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments. Dinner will be in a fabulous restaurant amid the old walls where Split life has been going on for thousands of years.

Early morning, we’ll set sail, weather permitting, for Dubrovnik, stopping along the way for photo opportunities, quaint fishing villages, and spectacular wine tasting. After checking into our seaside hotel, you’ll have time to relax or head to the Old Town of Dubrovnik to explore on your own. Or, just kick back and take in your new surroundings.

Today, you’ll explore Dubrovnik, a UNESCO world heritage site. There is no doubt why this is one of the Adriatic’s most prominent tourist areas. This stunningly intact walled city, was the only city-state in the Adriatic to rival Venice. After your guided tour, explore on your own, take a local kayak excursion, or walk the city walls. In the evening, we’ll meet for our farewell dinner.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, but today is farewell and you can head home with a carry-on bag full of memories! Thank you for joining us! We loved traveling with you!



What's Included?

Making sure your adventure with us is relaxing and wonderful, we’ve included the following:

  • Welcome reception at your hotel located in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s historical city center, with local wine, cheeses and meats! Yummy!
  • Welcome gift (it just may make you smile!)
  • Lodging for 14 nights (could vary if you’ve selected a shorter itinerary). Accommodations range from 4 star to local traditional homes to give the experience of the region. All rooms have in suite bathrooms. Often in family-run hotels in the historic heart of each city
  • All breakfasts (14 breakfasts)
  • At minimum 3 wine pairing dinners – including several select dinners at charming castles (11 Dinners)
  • At minimum 5 wine tours/tastings (maybe more, and possibly a beer tasting to clear our palates)
  • 2 hosted lunches. You’ll receive at minimum two full meals per day. In a couple cases three meals depending on the travel schedule. We have learned from previous guests that three meals per day, everyday, was just too much food. We’ve included more experiences and in general breakfast and dinner.
  • Dinner meals include 1 glass of wine; sometimes more. Each person is responsible for their drinks beyond what is host provided at the meal.
  • Private coach transportation with water available on the coach
  • Guided tours
  • Entrance fees to guided sites including 4 UNESCO World Heritage sights, plus some great stops ‘off the beaten path’!

This is an active tour. Expect lots of walking through old villages, cellars, and castles with lots of stairs. All walks are easy to moderate and in some cases taxi’s are an option, but at your personal expense. Hiking and rowing are optional, just added fun if you choose to partake. Weather permitting some lunches and wine tastings will take place in the vineyard and some legs of the trip may set sail.

For the shorter itinerary options there may be some flexibility on either the arrival or departure dates depending on which itinerary is chosen; it is best to contact us if the dates don’t match with your schedule.

For all itineraries we reserve the right to cancel and make adjustments as needed.


What’s Not Included?

Airfare is not included
Travel insurance is not included, but it is recommended. We can provide competitive quotes for travel insurance.
Airport transfers are not included, with the exception of those choosing the 7 to 9 Day itinerary. In that case, we will provide transfer to the starting location.

Logistics

The UnTour.Cool adventure will begin in Ljubljana, Slovenia and end in Dubrovnik, Croatia; unless, you are opting for one of the shorter itineraries, then confirm with us your arrival and departure cities. Guests may contact us to arrange flights or make their own flight arrangements.

Please note: Airfare from the US is not included in the price.


Travel Insurance

We highly recommend purchasing Travel Insurance to cover any losses you might incur if you have to abruptly leave the adventure or cancel after the allowed cancellation date. We can provide travel insurance options upon request.


Pricing

Due to fluctuating exchange rates pricing is in the local currency. Payments are to be made in U.S. dollars at the exchange rate on the day the final payment invoice is issued and to be paid upon receipt.

A non-refundable $500 deposit is required to reserve your spot.

Cancellation Policy

Company Cancellation:

UnTour.Cool, Inc. reserves the right to cancel an adventure. All Adventures require a minimum of seven people, we will notify guests who have placed deposits when the adventure is confirmed. In the unlikely situation of a cancelled adventure due to not enough guests, you will receive a complete refund of your adventure deposit and, if any, full payment. UnTour.Cool, Inc. will not assume any other liability and is not responsible for any personal expenses as a result of a adventure cancellation, such as airline tickets or personal hotel reservations.

Guest Cancellation:

  • Deposit is nonrefundable.
  • If you have made a full payment and cancel between April 1 and May 15, you will be refunded 75% of your final payment. Any cancellations after May 15, cannot be refunded due to the fact pre-payments have already been made to suppliers.
  • Final payments are due May 15
  • The strict cancellation policy is due to down payments and monies already spent to reserve services for this adventure. Small group travel requires a minimum number of attendees to ensure costs are covered.
